Song  before speech...

Flute before blowpipe...

Harp before bow...

Currently I offer several talks, described in a little more detail on the next  three pages. They are the fruit of my many decades pondering what music actually is, reading  books on the subject, from the Ancients to modern times,  investigating many styles and eras and always knowing music to be much more than mere entertainment.  My talks are intended to bring back some of the mystery and magic in music and the harp is a good instrument on which to show  this.

‘The best talk we have ever had.’

                       Chalice Well Gardens, Glastonbury 2010

‘Your talk was really brilliant, lots of people have said so. It was my favourite.’

                       Organiser 2010 Glastonbury Symposium

‘Thank you again for a really wonderful evening's entertainment, so much enjoyed and appreciated by all present.’

                       Blavatsky Lodge, London

‘I went to your talk on the 12 senses at the Theosophical society recently… It was a really intriguing topic to hear about and you presented it so well.’

                       Elizabeth, Bristol  Theosphical Society

'John had us entranced all evening with his playing, interlocked with tasty morsels about the harp and its history.’

                       Silves Cine-Theatre Club, Portugal
